Pain is your friend!!!

When you hurt, is your first thought about which pill you might take to get rid of your pain?

For most Americans the answer to that question is, "Yes!"

But I would like to invite you to consider that perhaps, just perhaps, your body is made by the same miraculous power that has created this entire universe. Perhaps you are a walking talking living and breathing miracle no less wonderfully made than all the rest of this gorgeous creation. The lovely beaches, the magnificent sunsets, the aromatic flowers, and all of the wonders of Mother Nature are no less beautiful than you. Yes, you are a miracle waiting and wanting to happen! Its true!!

A second look might just surprise you. For example, your body is made up of about 75 trillion cells all working together to keep you alive. There are some 20,000 known molecular reactions occurring inside each one of those cells every second!

Do the math. The results will astound even the most bored of us. For inside of you right now about 1.5 million billion chemical reactions are happening (give or take a few!).

Now if that isn't incredible enough, then consider how all of those events are working together to form so many different tissues and organs in you that are digesting your last meal, regenerating damaged tissues, regulating all of your blood chemistry, and making you wonder just what you are going to do next today! Somehow, thanks to your nervous system (your brain, spine and nerves), all of this is being automatically monitored and coordinated to keep you going. Isn't it truly beautiful?

In fact it really is too magnificent to comprehend. All we really can do is humble ourselves in wonder before this supreme power and try to work with it and not against it. And that makes all the difference!

Here is what is really happening. You have this gift of life; a human body. It is always trying to heal you and better adapt you to the forces, stresses and needs upon you. Your pain takes on a whole different meaning when viewed in this light. It is trying to tell you something. Its trying to say, "Hey! This is beyond my tolerance! Changes are necessary! Help!"

If you try to mask your pain with drugs, it makes about as much sense as putting a piece of duct tape over a flashing dashboard light. Don't be fooled. There is a lot of money in drugs my friends. More than your might think or even believe. Many people spend billions of dollars trying to encourage you to take as many pills as possible. And sometimes they truly are necessary. But more often they are a way of controlling and repressing symptoms at the expense of good health.

Yet remember, your body is also capable of truly remarkable healing. There is a Giant within you waiting to serve you if only given the chance. Why aren't there ads telling us that?
